From behind the sixteen foot laser and LED structure dubbed “Eye Live,” Midnight Conspiracy emerges as a riddle, wrapped in a mystery, inside an enigma that will literally overload your senses and still leave you coming back for more.

When the dark, moody, and even ominous undertones of their hard-hitting, no-holds-barred bass drops and harmonic melodies lift, you’ll be left pondering a few things. What is the Midnight Conspiracy? Who is behind it? Where did the last two hours of my life go? These aren’t questions that we can answer for you. These are questions that only you can answer, and only after experiencing Midnight Conspiracy live. Here’s what we can tell you:

Midnight ConspiracyThroughout history, imagery of “The Eye” has been associated with everything from secret societies to ancient deities, but Midnight Conspiracy is concerned with something much different: using an out of this world light show and their own special blend of heavy bass to put on an unforgettable show. It worked. They’re signed to the legendary Ultra Records, which is also home to favorites like: Deadmau5, Bloody Beetroots, Wolfgang Gartner and Benny Benassi. In addition to the DIY endeavor that is the “Eye Live—Laser Light & Heavy Bass Experience,” they also started the art collective and clothing line Dead Fame. They’ve risen to the top of Hype Machine, Beatport and BBC Radio 1, along with destroying stages at Lollapalooza and Ultra Music Festival.

Midnight Conspiracy 2Is Midnight Conspiracy a collection of heavy bass, mixed with electro and topped with dubstep? Or, is it some sort of mystical, musical chimera with a singular goal of putting on the best show you’ve ever experienced? Or, is it a perfectly produced musical narrative that evolved into live instrumentation and ultimately into a sixteen foot bastion of laser lights and brain-melting bass? The correct answer is all of the above, but “The Eye” commands something else entirely. Put yourself in its gaze at a show and get inducted into the Midnight Conspiracy.

Dubstep Louisiana, Anti Pop – CHURCH/KOMPRESSION

Unicorn Fukr is an indigenous creature from New Orleans born from mythical fornication. Since 2007, he has been thrusting his horn into the EDM scene, helping to pioneer the bass music takeover of Louisiana. Donning his disco vest and a wide range of electronic music, his ‘GET WEIRD’ ethos has spread like wild fire to all corners of the state and beyond. Through his legendary marathon DJ sets and infamous underground dance parties, Unicorn Fukr succeeds in his quest: to educate and expose people to the absolute dopest, cutting edge beats, and to bring people together to dance ecstatically all night, experiencing the soul-enriching vibes only high quality dance music can provide.

Unicorn Fukr 3Born in Chicago, with a family from Norway (where as a child he was first exposed to electronic dance music), and a Southern Louisiana upbringing, his eclectic background has been a source of diverse musical interest, influence and inspiration. Best known for spinning dubstep, and deep, tech and funky house, Unicorn Fukr’s repertoire also includes minimal, techno, nu disco, jungle, drum & bass, uk garage, breaks, indie electro, downtempo, and various other styles of bass music. “Very few can mix up the genres and styles and still have some coherence within their sets … and Unicorn Fukr does it better than nearly everyone I know. A rare talent in the EDM business,” proclaims Joe Nice, American ambassador of dubstep. A highly skilled, technical master with a keen ear, Unicorn Fukr meticulously pieces together only the most choice selection of tracks from across the spectrum of sound. His sets are programmed live in the moment to create a seamlessly evolving beat groove where each new bassline drop only reinvigorates his audience’s commitment to the dance floor. Notorious for his extended sets, Unicorn Fukr often throws down for 3, 4, 5, 6, sometimes even 9 hours, impressing partygoers with his supernatural stamina.

The Fukr’s magical powers are legendary, and have given him the ability to produce Dionysian events in and around New Orleans, including: Antipop’s Dirty Disco, a monthly Baton Rouge event since 2008; Kompression, NOLA’s renowned underground house and techno event, since 2010; and the infamous Church (formerly known as Bass Church), Louisiana’s original dubstep and bass music weekly, since 2010. Unicorn Fukr can also be found mobbing the streets of his natural habitat at mobile dance parties with the BeatBot and The Bull, as part of The Electronic 2nd Line Krewe.

Through these events — and during his early days hosting the Antipop Radio Show on 91.1 FM KLSU, where he was one of the first DJs to feature dubstep on FM radio in the South — Unicorn Fukr has been hard at work, alongside his cohorts at Antipop and Louisiana Dubstep, establishing what is now a thriving underground dance music community. His efforts have helped put New Orleans on the map for both the international underground bass and house music scenes.
