JEAN BOURQUE Paints to live musical performances, edm and poetry in public and on stage. She gets into the beat of the music and creates from the soul’s inspiration of the sound. She has been an artist at Ward Nasse Gallery in NYC since the 90s. In 1998, the art traveled to R Trade Gallery in the Netherlands. Artwork has been shown at Saatchi Gallery UK, Ward Nasse Gallery NYC and at many other venues. She has had several solo shows including Artsy Fartsy Gallery, Richland County Public Library, Lexington County Library, Gotham and at Trustus Theater.
Her studio work with the late Guy Lipscomb, Jr. honed her skills in conceptual and abstract painting. She studied impressionistic oil painting for over a decade with Ilona Royce Smithken, star of Painting with Ilona (SCETV), pastels with Jason Chang, collage with Gerald Brommer and multi medias with many other talented people. Jean has a degree in Business Management and in Jan 2008 she earned a certificate in Web design. In 2009 she earned a certificate in Alternative health. Jean’s art has recently been showing at Art Trail Gallery and at Railroad Junction Art Center in Florence, SC and Forest Acres Fine Art Center in Columbia, SC plus several other places throughout the world.
That is Jeanee’s bio.
Now I can speak for myself and a lot others when I say Jeanee is one of the hippest, most fun loving people that I have encountered since I have moved to Columbia. Leaving the “eccentric” artist stereotype behind, Jeanne is grounded and down to earth, loving to socialize and going out of her way to do for others. She is full of life. I met her for the first time when she dropped some items off for the children at my first benefit, HORIZON OF HOPE. She painted a picture live to local rock group Duba. She has brought many smiles to my face since that day. She painted live to Digital Rapport and Mix Masterson at the Camp Step Music Festival and the energy she brings to life with her paintings is amazing. Jeanee and I quickly became good friends. She makes it so easy to love her.
My heart is breaking as I type these words. Jeanne was diagnosed with Stage 3 breast cancer on February 1st. Jeanee who is full of life and love will be going through one of the biggest test of times. Why do things happen to us we can only wonder but I would like to believe that God has called Jeanne to be an inspiration to my life and others life and I know that having her to look up to and having her art work for my children to look up too will be a major roll in our lives and the lives of others. Please join with me in the fight to save Jeanne as no one should have to struggle through this alone.
WE LOVE YOU JEANEE!!
