From the words ‘beatnik’ and ‘breaks’ comes ‘the Breakniks’. A leading exponent of the Nu wave British break beak scene. Formed in 2004, over the years band members have included Doc Breaknik, Stet Breaknik, Stuntcock, Sorbak, John Leslie and Mr.D guest appearing on guitar.
Hailing from the south-east of England, the Breakniks strive to make well thought out tracks while endeavoring to deliver pounding beats. They are heavily Influenced by the American Electro scene from the 80’s, the whole early computer movement, rave, the B.R.E.A.K’s and 70’s/80’s film score’s.
Over the year’s, aswell as making tracks, they’ve also ventured into presenting on pirate/internet radio, d.j.ing around England, directing the odd video and remixing.
